Fill it in and print it

How to fill it out
Enter your rates once
Open the Rates tab and type your price per foot for gutters, guards and cleaning at 1, 2 and 3+ stories, your removal and downspout rates, and your minimums. The Estimate tab reads them from there.
Measure the runs
Measure each roof edge that drains off the house. Leave out edges that drain onto another roof. Put runs on a lower roof, such as a porch or an attached garage, on the lower-roof lines.
Pick the job type and stories
Choose guards on existing gutters, new gutters with guards, or new gutters. The story count picks the rate. A guards-only job uses the guards-only minimum. For cleaning, choose Cleaning existing gutters and put footage on the cleaning lines. That job uses the cleaning minimum.
Let it count the downspouts
The side block adds one downspout per the feet of gutter you set, never fewer than your minimum. Each drop is about 10 feet per story plus 2 feet for elbows and the extension.
Check the total and the scope
If the lines add up to less than your minimum, the total rises to it and the sheet says so. Fill in the gutter size, color, downspout locations and what isn't included before you send it.

Is this gutter estimate template free?
Yes. Download the Excel, CSV or PDF file, or fill in the sheet on this page and print it. You don't need an email address or an account.
Does it work for gutter cleaning estimates?
Yes. In Excel, choose Cleaning existing gutters. The Rates tab has a cleaning rate for each story and a cleaning minimum. Put footage on the cleaning lines. A short job rises to that minimum. In the CSV or the sheet on this page, enter the cleaning rate and minimum by hand.
Does it work in Google Sheets?
Yes. In Google Sheets, choose File, then Import, and upload the .xlsx file. The formulas, dropdowns and all three tabs come with it. The CSV imports too, with the line math but without the Rates tab.
How does it count downspouts?
One downspout per the feet of gutter you set on the Rates tab, with a minimum per job. Each drop is about 10 feet per story plus 2 feet. Change both numbers to match how you size downspouts for your rainfall and roof area.
How should I price gutter guards?
The template prices guards per foot on the same footage as the gutters, with a rate for each story. Set a separate guards-only minimum so a short add-on job still covers the trip.
