Terms of service

Overview

These terms govern your use of Instant Quote, a service operated by Verlua that measures homes from aerial imagery and provides price ranges for exterior services. By creating an account and using Instant Quote, you agree to these terms.

Contractor accounts and team members

You, the contractor, create an account with your business name and contact information. You may invite team members to your account; you are responsible for their actions and for ensuring they comply with these terms. Only the account owner can manage team member access, billing, and lead routing. Team members cannot create new widgets or edit pricing.

Acceptable use

You may not:

• Scrape, bulk-download, or store the measurement data Verlua provides as a permanent database or for resale.
• Reverse-engineer the measurement engine or use Instant Quote to build a competitive estimation tool.
• Share your account or API keys with third parties; each team member must be invited through the dashboard.
• Use the widget to measure properties you do not have a legitimate business interest in quoting (e.g., competitor research or mass data collection).

These restrictions are required by the Google Maps Platform, whose aerial imagery powers Instant Quote. Violating them is a breach of both these terms and the Google Maps Platform Terms of Service, which apply to both you and any homeowners who use Instant Quote through your website.

Homeowner contact and TCPA compliance

When a homeowner submits their name and phone number through your Instant Quote widget, they are providing that information to you, not to Verlua. You are responsible for:

• Complying with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), including obtaining prior express written consent before sending prerecorded or automated calls or texts.
• Honoring opt-out requests (STOP, DO NOT CALL, etc.) immediately.
• Complying with state and local laws governing lead follow-up and contact frequency.
• Accurately representing your business in all communications with homeowners.

If you enable SMS alerts in your Instant Quote settings, those alerts are sent to your team members. Homeowners who consent to texts will receive one initial message from Verlua; all follow-up communication is between you and the homeowner.

Measurement accuracy and price ranges

Instant Quote estimates the size and characteristics of a home using satellite imagery, not on-site measurement. The price range shown is an estimate, not a binding quote. Actual prices may differ due to:

• Imagery quality (clouds, tree cover, age of satellite data).
• Measurement limitations (complex roof shapes, additions, attachments).
• Site conditions the homeowner did not disclose (materials, age, damage).
• Your pricing (if the homeowner's confirmed details differ from what Instant Quote detected).

We recommend that you:

• Verify the measurement on your first visit or through video consultation.
• Adjust your quoted price based on your inspection and the homeowner's confirmed details.
• Document the homeowner's acceptance of the final price before work begins.

Instant Quote makes no warranty that the price range will match the homeowner's final invoice. The estimate helps convert website visitors; your accuracy and professionalism close the job.

Pricing, trial, and billing

When you sign up for Instant Quote, you receive a 14-day free trial of the Pro plan (600 measured quotes, 5 widgets, 10 team members). No payment method is required during the trial.

After your trial ends, you must choose a paid plan or your account will be suspended:

• Starter: $99/month, 150 included measured quotes, $0.50 per additional quote.
• Pro: $249/month, 600 included measured quotes, $0.35 per additional quote.
• Multi-market: $499/month, 2,000 included measured quotes, $0.25 per additional quote.

A measured quote is counted when a homeowner enters an address and you or they see a price range. Quotes with no roof data (error outcomes) are not counted toward your monthly limit. If you reach your included limit during a billing period, additional measured quotes are charged at your plan's per-quote rate and added to your invoice.

Billing is monthly and renews automatically on the anniversary of your initial purchase. You may cancel anytime by logging into your account or contacting support@verlua.com. Cancellations take effect at the end of the billing month.

We accept payment via Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, ACH). You authorize Verlua to charge your payment method on the date specified in your subscription confirmation. If a payment fails, we will attempt to retry for up to 7 days. If the account remains unpaid after 7 days past due, your widgets will degrade to a lead-collection form and homeowners will not see price ranges.

Widget behavior when billing is past due

Instant Quote prioritizes homeowner experience. If your account is unpaid or your trial has ended, the widget will:

• Stop showing price ranges.
• Continue to collect the homeowner's contact information as a lead.
• Display "We'll measure this one in person" instead of a price.

This means you will not lose leads if your subscription lapses; you will simply need to measure them on-site rather than providing an instant estimate. Resume your subscription anytime to re-enable price ranges on your website.

Refunds

Subscription fees are non-refundable. If you cancel mid-month, you are charged through the end of that billing period; refunds are not issued for partial months. If there is a billing error, contact support@verlua.com and we will adjust your invoice.

Data ownership and use

You own the leads (homeowner contact information and their consent status) collected through your Instant Quote widget. Verlua processes this data as your service provider. We will:

• Not use your leads for any marketing or third-party purpose.
• Store leads only for as long as necessary to deliver the service (lead routing, SMS, email) or as required by law.
• Provide you with the ability to export your leads and delete your account data.

You are responsible for compliance with privacy laws (CCPA, GDPR, state privacy laws) in collecting and contacting homeowners.

Confidentiality

Your account credentials, API keys, and webhook URLs are confidential. Do not share them with anyone outside your organization. You are responsible for all activity on your account, regardless of whether you directly caused it.

When you send leads to a webhook, CRM or other service you choose, that service is yours: you are responsible for securing the endpoint and for how that service stores and uses the lead. Verlua is not responsible for data exposed by a destination you configured.

Intellectual property

Verlua owns all right, title, and interest in Instant Quote, including the measurement algorithms, pricing engine, and satellite imagery and data from Google. Your use of these assets is limited to running your pricing widget on your website. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works.

You own your pricing configuration (the numbers you set for labor, materials, and services). You may not export or resell this configuration as a standalone product.

Limited warranty and disclaimers

Instant Quote is provided "as is." Verlua makes no representation that Instant Quote will:

• Accurately measure every home or roof type.
• Work without errors or downtime.
• Meet your specific business needs.
• Increase your sales or lead volume.

Satellite imagery is provided by Google and is subject to Google's Terms of Service. Verlua is not responsible for the accuracy, timeliness, or quality of that data.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Verlua's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Instant Quote is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. This includes any liability for lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, or indirect damages.

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, strict liability, etc.) and even if Verlua has been notified of the possibility of such damages.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Verlua and its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or costs (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of Instant Quote or violation of these terms.
• Your violation of any law, including the TCPA or privacy laws.
• Homeowner complaints about inaccurate quotes, unsolicited contact, or billing disputes.
• Your violation of Google's Terms of Service or acceptable use policy.

Termination and data export

Verlua may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in fraud, or use Instant Quote for illegal purposes. Termination takes effect immediately.

Upon termination or at your request, you may export your data (configuration, leads, quotes) for 30 days. After 30 days, we may delete your account data, including leads and archived quotes. You are responsible for backing up your data.

Changes to these terms

Verlua may update these terms at any time by posting the revised version here with an updated date. Material changes (e.g., new fees, new restrictions) will be communicated via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of Instant Quote after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Sacramento County, California.
