How to fill it out
Enter your rates once
On the Rates tab, type your price per foot at 1, 2 and 3+ stories, your rates for hanging the customer's own lights, a takedown fee if you bill it on its own, and your minimum.
Measure the roofline for the coverage
Front only, front and sides, or all the way around. Put runs on a lower roof, like a porch or an attached garage, on the lower-roof line. Put the sloped edges on the peaks line if the customer wants them lit.
Pick the stories and who supplies the lights
The story count picks the rate. Choose Yes on Customer supplies lights and every footage line switches to your labor-only rates.
Add trees, bushes and wreaths
Use the blank lines for anything you price by the piece. Type the count as the quantity and your price for each one as the rate.
Check the minimum and the dates
If the lines add up to less than your minimum, the total rises to it and the sheet says so. Write the install and takedown dates in the job details before you send it.

How do I measure a house for Christmas lights?
Measure the eaves on each side the customer wants lit. If they want the peaks, measure the sloped edges from the eave up to the ridge. Lower roofs, like a porch, go on their own line at the lower story rate.
What if the customer has their own lights?
Choose Yes on Customer supplies lights. Every footage line switches to your labor-only rates from the Rates tab. The minimum still applies.
Should takedown be its own line?
Either way works. Many companies build takedown into the per-foot price. If you bill it on its own, put a takedown fee on the Rates tab and the line fills in. Leave the fee blank when the rate already covers it.
How do I price trees and bushes?
Price them each on the blank lines, with the count as the quantity and your price per item as the rate. A wrapped tree usually costs more than a bush because it takes more lights and more time.
Does it work in Google Sheets?
Yes. In Google Sheets, choose File, then Import, and upload the .xlsx file. The formulas, dropdowns and all three tabs come with it. The CSV imports too, with the line math but without the Rates tab.
