How to fill it out
Enter your rates once
On the Rates tab, type your installed price per foot at 1, 2 and 3+ stories, your controller and setup fee, the feet of lights per controller if you add more on big jobs, and your minimum.
Measure the roofline for the coverage
Front only, front and sides, or all the way around. Add the rake edges if the owner wants the peaks lit. Put runs on a lower roof on the lower-roof line.
Let it count the controllers
The side block adds one controller per job, or one per the feet of lights you set, whichever is more.
Check the minimum
Front-only jobs on small houses often land under a minimum. The total rises to your minimum and the sheet says so.
Settle power before you quote
Note where the controller plugs in. If the house needs a new outdoor outlet, say who provides it. Outdoor receptacles need GFCI protection.

FAQ
How do I measure a house for permanent lights?
Measure the eaves on each side the owner wants lit. If they want the peaks, add the rake edges from the eave up to the ridge. Lower roofs, like a porch, go on their own line at the lower story rate.
How many controllers does a job need?
One per job unless the run is long. Set the feet of lights one controller covers on the Rates tab and the side block adds more when a job goes over it.
Do peaks cost more?
The template prices peaks as footage at the same story rate. If peaks take your crew longer, raise the story rate or add a line for them.
What about power?
Say where the controller plugs in and who adds an outlet if the house needs one. NFPA notes that outdoor receptacles need GFCI protection.
Does it work in Google Sheets?
Yes. In Google Sheets, choose File, then Import, and upload the .xlsx file. The formulas, dropdowns and all three tabs come with it. The CSV imports too, with the line math but without the Rates tab.
