How to fill it out
Enter your rates once
On the Rates tab, type your installed price per square for each material, your tear-off rate per layer, height and steep roof percents, waste by roof shape and your minimum.
Measure the sloped area
Enter the sloped roof area in square feet. A square is 100 sq ft of roof surface. If you measured the footprint instead, convert it with the pitch first.
Pick the roof shape
The shape sets the waste percent from your Rates tab. The side block turns area into squares to price, with waste, to one decimal.
Pick material, stories and pitch
The material picks the rate, the story count picks the height adjustment, and a yes on steeper than 8/12 adds your steep roof percent.
Add tear-off and the scope
Tear-off uses the measured squares times the layers coming off, with no waste. Write the underlayment, flashing, ventilation and decking terms in the scope.

FAQ
What is a roofing square?
100 square feet of roof surface, measured on the slope. Divide the sloped roof area by 100 to get squares.
How much waste should I add?
It depends on the roof shape and your crew. Hips, valleys and complex roofs need more cuts than a simple gable. Set a percent for each shape on the Rates tab and adjust it from your own jobs.
How do I price decking replacement?
Most roofers can't see bad decking until tear-off. Put a price per sheet in the scope and use a blank line for it once you know the count.
Is this for insurance claims?
No. It's a retail replacement estimate with your own rates. Insurance work usually follows the carrier's estimating format.
Does it work in Google Sheets?
Yes. In Google Sheets, choose File, then Import, and upload the .xlsx file. The formulas, dropdowns and all three tabs come with it. The CSV imports too, with the line math but without the Rates tab.
